Groups of outside radicals and agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate and violent agenda.

The trope of the 'outside agitator' emerges in the wake of any effective uprising. It is a charge bemoaned by politicians and corporate media pundits in order to divide a movement and quell public support for the uprising. A ‘Hail Mary’ for the ruling class, a countermeasure for when all other sociocultural divisions fail, and unity occurs among the dominated subjects.

THE PERFORMERS:

Meet the chaotic harmony of Monty O’Blivion, J.D., Casey, and Sarah — four underground veterans forging a new sound with teeth. Uniting post-punk rhythms, driving bass, blistering riffs, and sharp lyrical wit, this newly-formed outfit blends raw energy with radical intent. Equal parts menace and melody, the band’s sound is a collision of politics, poetry, and pure catharsis — tailor-made for the disillusioned and the defiant.

THE PERFORMANCE:

Monty O’Blivion howls into the mic like a person possessed, ripping jagged sax lines that sound like sirens in a burning city. J.D.’s bass rattles the floorboards, deep and relentless, while Casey’s guitar cuts through the noise like shattered glass. Behind it all, Sarah keeps the whole thing alive and thrashing — pounding drums with surgical fury and zero mercy.

The set is tight, loud, and unhinged in all the right ways. Just four people tearing it up during late stage capitalism.

The mANIFESTO:

Art should be for the people. We reject the individualism of capitalist art. This does not mean we reject individuality, as in, what makes us unique, it means we reject the exceptionalism of the individual over the whole. We reject the rock god, the pop star, the careerist, the sad bastard that interprets the world through the lens of self-indulgence. We don’t want a music career, we want a revolution.

Explosive and genuine. Monty O’Blivion delivers the perfect combination of punk, blues & cabaret with a heaping helping of showmanship. I always look forward to new music from this artist.

THE Gallery:

A combined experience of 20+ years of shows from mid-size venues to backyards, The Agitators’ passion is only matched by their professionalism. Expect an efficient stage plot and easy load-in along with an electric performance that will leave an impression.

An unassailable sound that flies in the face of categorisation and revels in the unexpected, offering a distinct medley of styles, sounds, and genres that are stitched together by an undeniable ‘80s vibe.
